Red-throated Wryneck

Red-throated Wryneck (Jynx ruficollis)

Taken on a dull dreich day in the Aberdares.

It was like home-from-home in Africa; windy, cold and wet, but instead of Red Grouse there's Jackson's Francolin and instead of Red Deer there's shaggy-coated Waterbuck. There were also stonechats and wagtails to complete the illusion (which gets shattered when an elephant appears!).
