Secretary Bird
The serpent killer! This majestic, beautiful and unique bird is only found in Africa - unfortunately they are now a species with a steep population decline, and need to be protected.

Kicker of a scientific name too!
Location
Tsavo East National Park, Kenya
Date taken
30-Jun-2021
Scientific name
Sagittarius serpentarius
fabulous photo of a fabulous bird, Mustafa, many thanks for sharing it with us. Sad to hear that numbers are declining.
I had the chance to see one, more than 40 years ago, in Lochinvar National Park in Zambia, I still remember this unique experience!

I wondered where the name came from! A wonderful capture of this lovely bird, Mustafa. What a shame it's in decline.
