Senegal Thick-knee
A crepuscular predominantly West African species which will be well-known to those who have visited The Gambia where it favours Mangroves.
In Kenya this is a scarce bird best seen at Lake Baringo or Lake Turkana.
This bird was standing on a large rock by the water's edge -the image was taken from a boat.
