Snow Geese Migration

Snow Geese Migration (Chen caerulescens)

This is a shot from 2012. In contrast to the small numbers of Snow Geese seen passing thru our area the last couple of years we used to get large groups in the thousands that would pass thru during both spring and fall migration. They would typically hang out on the rivers for several days or a couple of weeks on their way thru.
I don't know if the flyways have changed or if they are just pushing thru our area faster and we don't see them.

OMG! Now that's a lot of Snow Geese Ken!

I'm not seeing as many as I used to either but I've never seen this many together before.

A fine example Ken, I hope your assessment of the situation is correct, and that they have not declined in numbers for some unknown reason.

What a wonderful sight that must have been to observe Ken.

It's such a shame you aren't seeing the numbers coming through in the same way now. I wonder if you'll ever be able to find out what happened?

Thanks for showing us this picture my friend.
