Stealing sticks from the Beaver Lodge..... (Ardea herodias)

Another shot of herons at the local rookery rebuilding after windstorm damage. This one shows two of the herons that had lost a nest to the wind storm we had last week gathering some sticks to rebuild with. They were gathering sticks from the top of a beaver lodge. I was hoping that the beaver would emerge and discover the herons pilfering from his lodge. That probably would have made for some interesting photos.... He never came out tho and the herons went about stealing building materials from the top of his house.... lol

A great behavior shot Ken. As Beavers usually only are out at dawn and dusk this must have been a middle of the day capture ;)
