Striated Caracara (Phalcoboenus australis)

Many thanks to all who commented about my other recent postings. Carcass Island is a small island on the north west coast of the Falklands, and there is a very welcoming guest house there run by Rob and Lorraine McGill. The wildlife there is amazing, and almost completely unafraid of people. This makes taking photos very easy in comparison to those of you BFers who manage to get great shots of timid woodland birds back here in the UK. This juvenile Striated Caracara was just sitting on a post, almost completely unconcerned about me.
