Surfing Kelp Goose (Chloephaga hybrida malvinarium)

This shot was taken on the shores of East Cove in the Falklands. This female Kelp Goose was feeding amongst the stones on the foreshore when extra surf caused by the wash of a passing tug started breaking behind her. The male (pure white and very difficult to photograph without blowing highlights) was swimming in gentle comfort about 20 yards offshore.
