Surprise rubbish
As June and I continued to explore the ponds, we reached yet another one when a "whoosh" and "peep" went past us. "What was that?" said June. I had an idea, but couldn't believe what I'd heard. It wasn't until I found it sheltering in the darkest corner he could find, that I confirmed it as a Common Sandpiper!

The last bird I was expecting to find down here somehow.

Sorry for the quality of this picture but I did want to record it for the day.

Strange! I didn't see the Sandpiper when I first opened your image but after reading some of the posts, I went back up and whoa & behold, there it was :)

Lovely capture of this common sandpiper hiding in the darkest area around (lol). Great ears and spot with it flying by. TFS D!
