The Chough and the flower (Pyrrhocorax graculus)

A "belly-job" I had completely forgotten about!!! :eek!: But I enjoyed finding surprises among the old Leica jobs! :bounce:

An Alpine Chough with an alpine flower that I dedicate to our poetic Alok and Renu! o:) I'm not sure it looks poetic but at least looks sweet, I think! ;)
Habitat
Alpine meadow at 1850 m.
Location
Fuente De, Picos de Europa National Park, Cantabria Province, N Spain
Date taken
25 May 2009
Scientific name
Pyrrhocorax graculus
Equipment used
Leica V-LUX-1 (handheld crowling, ISO100, F/5.6, 1/400s, 0.0ev)
Nice "belly job" Marian. Like fine wine, you bring your great photos out at their peak! For various reasons, I've not been out shooting much this year and I've decided not to dig up anything old. If the weather would cooperate, perhaps I can get out soon and find something that satisfies me. I hope all is well with you, mi amiga.

All is well in Hawke's Bay, we have not been affected by the earthquake, love your photos.
Rookery.

Perfect capture, looks like a giant kind bird looking down to help out. I love the tranquility of the whole presentation.

i have no idea how on earth i missed this fantastic shot, beautiful focus and exposure. love it so much.

... finally I've caught up with it ... what a marvelous image ... brings out the essence of Nature ... the duality of big and small , good and bad , loss and gain and birth and death ...as Hindus call it ... a superlative post Marian ... we deeply regret the hurt caused to u by missing it ... we so desperately wished to know about ur welfare ... but had no means ...finally we managed to send our wishes thru Doux ... such a lovely person she is ....
all the best wishes to u ... God bless u ...

P.S. ...
the date of ur post coincides with the time we went for Bird Census in Himachal on Govt.'s invitation , and we were away from forum from 30.01.11 to 05.02.11 ...
... so that is the real culprit of our missing the post ...
Regards and love ... and lots of warm hugs ...
