Trumpeter Hornbill
These outrageous looking hornbills showed up at an inopportune time when I was struggling to get cash from an ATM. This is a male which has more extensive casque than the female. Their loud calls sound like a baby crying. Hornbills are usually classified in their own family, the Bucerotidae. This monotypic forest species is sometimes placed in the genus "Ceratogymna."
