    These outrageous looking hornbills showed up at an inopportune time when I was struggling to get cash from an ATM. This is a male which has more extensive casque than the female. Their loud calls sound like a baby crying. Hornbills are usually classified in their own family, the Bucerotidae...

    This is the first time I have ever photographed anything from my bed! This voyeur was in the large tree immediately outside our room. The verandah door was open so I lay on the bed and used a pillow as support to take this image. (Canon 7D + 500mm IS lens + 1.4x TC + feather pillow).
