Violet-capped and grevilea
This grevilea flower is certainly one of the favorite for almost all types of hummers I know here.. Although elusive, sometimes this hummingbird allows me to take shots from a relatively small distance ( 12-15 feet ). One interesting thing about this hummer is that it seems to beat it's wings faster than the others, I'm using 1/1250 shutter speed with it, whereas for the others I know here 1/1000 would be sufficient!
Hope you like this one!

Luiz, this is beautiful! Strange to see a hummingbird feeding from a grevillea, but it works as a superb image - thank you.

It is nice to get the wings "frozen" in the air but slightly blurred ones can give equally beautiful images, as in this case. It is a splendorous picture! By the way, I like your last "bird and plant" captions, very instructive. :) Cheers!
