White Pelican (Pelecanus erythrohynchos)

Single White Pelican flying. The large bump clearly visible on the bill is a horn that is grown by both the males and females during the courtship period and falls off after nesting.

I wonder what its function is, except perhaps to show that they're quite literally "horny" ;)
