Yellow-rumped Warbleer (Dendroica coronata)

Took this guy on a local patch yesterday. Tomorrow I leave for a few days to Magee Marsh in Ohio. This marsh is known as a warbler magnet for the first 2 weeks of may each year during migration. It sits on the shores of Lake Erie and in the middle of a migration flyway. Warblers heading for their breeding grounds in upper Canada come up against Lake Erie and let down in this marsh to feed before making the lake jump. There is a 1 1/2 mile boardwalk running thru the marsh and it gets crowded with photographers and birders this time of year. I have made the trip out there 4 times and the first time out I got 26 species of warblers So here's hoping for a banner year this year......
Be back in a few days.
