Very busy at the bird feeder today! (2 Viewers)

Should be around for a good few weeks yet, although maybe not in your garden that late tho.

CB

That's what I'm afraid of, I'm gonna miss them loads! :-C

Brambling is a yearly tick in the garden but this is the first time I've ever had them in these numbers and staying for so long too. People go on about the Waxwing invasion but I'd lay good odds this year has seen a Brambling invasion too.

17 goldfinches this morning along with greenfinches, great tits, house and tree sparrows, blackbirds and collared doves.very cold here but all the usual suspects about.

Very cold in the High Peak as well. My thrushes are starting to increase in number but I am not seeing much yet in the early morning. Blackbirds, Thrushes and Robins at the moment.

I have had heavy feeding on every feeder but what is on them I don't know yet. Hopefully I will see whatever is coming this weekend if the weather stays reasonable.

You have been posting some great images and clips, keep up the good work.

I haven't posted in a while - life catching up with me and just not getting the chance for proper garden watching!

So a quick update - plenty of activity in and around the garden pretty much through the whole day (from what i've seen). Lots of Blackbirds and House Sparrows around. Great, Blue and Coal Tits, we also have a pair of LTT's that are about often too. Goldfinch, Robin, Dunnocks, Starlings, Woodpigeon, Collared Doves and Magpies.

No sign of the Siskin in a couple of weeks though. We also have what appear to be a pair of resident Chaffinch, which i'm quite pleased about as previously they are only occasional visitors.

Saw the Sparrowhawk for the first time this year this morning as it flew over the gardens. It appeared to have something in its claws - i'm not sure what but there was along piece of plant trailing along behind it!

Good to see you back on the board again, Pam, and to see you're still getting birds in your garden.

Plenty of birds on the feeders and in the garden this morning including my first Song Thrushes of 2011. A few moments ago something flew into my patio doors. I had a quick look but no sign of an injured bird. Then I spotted the probable cause of any panic up on the roof of the bungalow next door. A Sparrowhawk that kindly stayed long enough for me to grab my camera and get a record shot taken through window.

nice capture Andrew.:t: we have twice had a sprawk fly into our glazed kitchen doors. I wonder if it is due to their prey trying to escape through our kitchen !
