Yorkshire Birding (53 Viewers)

Just got back from Scotland, I know it's not YORKS, but I'm a Yorkie needing info. While birding Broadford Bay on Skye, I saw a Blackwit with what looked like a white wing tag. It was stuck up prominently on its right wing, like a thin plant label, at first I thought it was a displaced feather. I couldn't see any markings on it, too far away. Is it possible that it was a wing tag and if so, who do I report it to....?
Thanks Joe

Hopefully you'll get a report back.

Kilnsea for an hour

Just popped in at Kilnsea for the last hour this evening.
YBW showed well in the last of the sunlight, went down to canal scrape and saw the red backed shrike in the bushes opposite the hide plus ring ouzel.

Managed to refind the Bluetail and YB Warbler this morning at South Landing. Also jibbed a Sibe Chiffchaff which moved off uncalling and without a pic. Some record shots on the blog.

Now I'll admit to being a bit forgetful myself, but this is in a different league. Just come up on Birdguides;

Lost Camera at Spurn Nikon D80 and 500mm lens left in Canal Scrape hide at c.15:00. If found please phone 07900 88 5055. Thank you

Thought I'd spread awareness and if you are reading I hope you get it back!

Anyone going for the GND may want to know there was a female Scaup on Scammonden today as well.

still there this morning, over on the right hand side near the rough scrubby area, it's recieving a reasonable stream of visitors,

also had a snipe over by the trees in the scrub, for anyone whose patch it is

any chance of a quick map? Hoping to pick this one up at lunchtime, work just down the road.

Thanks for the info on scaup jim, managed one at kilnsea on sunday though so will give that one a miss.
