Always good to know what has been published as often incorrect information is circulated. The Trust's website refers to breeding Redshank whilst also stating "Avocet, little ringed plover and lapwing young are around throughout summer" - if only for the latter two species!
Pair of Pintail on the Moors plus 3 Lesser Redpoll.
pintail have gone ...now a red kite over masts per Vern
Noted today that there are a number of Chaffinches on both sides of The Moors with Papillomavirus, including this badly affected individual. Is there anything we can do to try and slow the spread?
Also a Kestrel and Buzzard showing nicely, though didn't see the Red Kite.
1. Chaffinch with Papillomavirus
2. Buzzard
Steve T has texted me to say pair of Pintail are back at the Moors
Here they are from this morning
A HAPPY CHRISTMAS to ALL THE WORK PARTY CREW'S, WARDENS, TOGS and BIRDERS both past and present.
Here's hoping for a great 2015 at the Reserve. Special mention to the Tuesday crew that have toiled through rain and shine. Their endeavours are now paying dividends and the Moors is getting closer to reaching its true potential.
Also for those that have asked me about my Grandson Freddie, I have put a photo of him aged 1 month (with a message from us) before his illness and the 2nd pic of him now.
Thank you all for your concern he is doing really well now and will hopefully be the 3rd generation of the family to participate on the Work parties..but not just yet8-P. He will hopefully be part of the Future Upton Warren.
