    Lancashire Kite

Thought so but always pays to be sure. Turns out it had been seen 2 hours earlier also as a brief fly over. Thanks Alban

    Lancashire Kite

Seen flying over Brockholes this afternoon. Would have presumed Red but with this morning's sightings and a distinct lack of red [even with the sun on the tail] on this bird with, seemingly, small white underwing patches, my mind did think of Black. Any comments? Alban

    Green Woodpecker

Iberian Green Woodpecker Saw several some years ago in an area of wooded heath on the edge of Salou. Certainly not the dense woodland referred to above. PM me if you want details [I'm not expecting to be inundated!] Alban

Ditto redshank. Love the way you just dismiss the Marsh Sand and concentrate on the shanks! Alban

Imperial Woodpecker footage A fantastic record, but terribly sad. Had never even heard of them before seeing this. Alban

Not sure you can tempt fate every migration period Alan! We've just had Spotted Sand so things are still moving in Lancs, although we're always a little slow compared to the rest of the country! Cheers Alban

    Disney Thrush

If I'd known I'd have got the camera out. If anyone passes through it is behind the queue for the Tomorrowland Speedway. In the trees behind the bridge across the course. I did see the bird about 5-6 times in about 30 mins, each time carrying nesting material. Oh well, I'll probably never...

    Disney Thrush

Thanks guys. Definitely a thrush. I had seen Hermit Thrush in Central Park a few days earlier [10th April] and again later in Boston 22nd. The Disney bird was on the 14th. I have seen Wood Thrush passing through Florida in the past. Light speckling basically means typical small thrush - my...

    Disney Thrush

Went to Florida in April. As well as the usual birding [Crested Caracara, Snail Kite, Magnificent Frigatebird, Florida Scrub Jay etc], also did a bit of Disney. Saw a small thrush carrying nesting material repeatedly over about a 40 minute period whilst in a queue [for once didn't try getting...
