Seen flying over Brockholes this afternoon. Would have presumed Red but with this morning's sightings and a distinct lack of red [even with the sun on the tail] on this bird with, seemingly, small white underwing patches, my mind did think of Black.

Any comments?

Thought so but always pays to be sure. Turns out it had been seen 2 hours earlier also as a brief fly over.

Thanks

Alban
