    Just down a bit from the fens pools on the canal near footshole, is a male mandarin in amongst the mallards. Been told its been about for three weeks

    Water rail was present this morning so still hanging about, nothing else of note.

    I did and they said the hide was open as normal. But when I got to the gate a sign was up saying no admittance. I have walking difficulties so was not very happy.

    Is there any chance that the trust can let people know when the hide is being used by schools, had to wait 2 hours until they left.

    Three herons in tall trees on railway embankment this morning, with a lot of calling .

    2 goosanders on the golden puddle. Lots of canada geese and ducks as per usuall. Green woodpecker was foraging well.

    7Dmk2 and Tamrom 150-600 focus issue

    I own this lense and its soft at 600 full stop. I pull it back a bit and always use f8 for bird shots. By the way I use a nikon. Got some wonderfull images. Just try what I said see if it makes any difference.

    Moors pool early morning visit. Oystercatcher down to two chicks. Hobby flew over hide while I was setting camera up arghh

    Tripod for use with a tammy 150-600

    Hi all am after a steady tripod for use with a nikon d7200 and tamron 150-600 combo. Been told I could get away with a monopod as the set up isnt that heavy. I also have trouble walking so it has to be light as well. What do you recomend for me. Thanks andy.
