Swarovski NL Pure 8x32 vs CL Companion 8x30

These days, I use the CL Companion 8X30s more frequently than any other. It is small, handy, and offers a fine, sharp, and contrasty view. The NL Pure 8x32s are bigger, have far better ergonomics, and are indeed excellent. While birding with the CLs, I don't think I miss much. Arijit

    Lee Thickett (Troubador) - R.I.P.

This is such a sad thing to hear. His musings over optics is what kept bringing me back to the forums. devastating news. My prayers are with his family and friends. May the Almighty give them the time and space to come to terms with this loss. This community, I am sure, will miss him immensely...

    Short-toed Snake Eagle

Till now I have always seen them either perched atop tall trees or soaring in the sky. Seeing this one enjoying the morning sun on the ground was indeed a terrific sight.

    Pentax Ad 7x32 ED Binocular

I tried this one today. Not bad, CA certainly not a problem. Could it have been brighter and sharper? Will come back in a couple of days.

    Pentax Ad 7x32 ED Binocular

If I had to, I would look at the SD 7x42. If it is anything like their ZDEDs, it should be good, no nonsense pair.

    New 7X Bins

I use a ZD ED. Its build quality is as good as it gets. The field is clean, sharp and very well corrected for aberrations. A fine birding tool - not seen such quality in anay of the plastic Nikons yet

    New 7X Bins

The spec sheet for the SD series 7x is even more interesting! ED glass, Nitrogen purged, 131mt @1000mt field, exit pupil 6.1, eye-relief 18mm, relative brightness 37.2, MFD 3 mts.
