Are these Dusky Myzomela (Honeyeater) from Queensland

Thanks for everyone's input on this one. John, thanks for getting in touch with Phil. He was away on a trip when we visited but we did enjoy the excellent breakfasts that Sue provided as well as the great gen she gave us on the birds. Interesting Phil's comment about pollen and I'm sure that...

Are these Dusky Myzomela (Honeyeater) from Queensland

I have one other photo of the same bird taken 2 seconds later. The bill looks longer from this angle and the pink wash is less noticeable. If this is a Scarlet it would be the only one that I saw in north-east Queensland in the course of 4 weeks in Nov/Dec.

Are these Dusky Myzomela (Honeyeater) from Queensland

I attach two photos of what I assume are Dusky Myzomela (aka Dusky Honeyeater) taken at Kuranda, Queensland. One shows a pink wash on the forehead and cheek. This is mentioned by HBW but I can't find it mentioned elsewhere. The other photo shows what I assume to be a juvenile with a more swollen...

Is this a Fairy Gerygone (Queensland, Australia)

I'm trying to id this bird and the closest I can get is Fairy Gerygone but it doesn't look exactly the same as most photos I have seen. Taken near Kuranda, Queensland so, if it is Fairy Gerygone, it would be in the intergradation zone between G. p. personata and G. p. flavida.

I attach photos of birds that were seen in April near Deothang, Bhutan at about 1300 metres. Can anyone help me to identify them?

    Damselfly in Suffolk

I attach 3 photos of a damselfly I had near my garden pond in Suffolk on 11th May. I can't identify it but I am new to the world of dragonflies. Can anyone help with the id?

    Buteo in Bhutan

I attach two photos of a bird seen in the Mo Chu Valley (Tashithang Road), Bhutan, in late March this year. I originally thought that it was Upland Buzzard Buteo hemilasius but it has been suggested that it might be Himalayan Buzzard B. burmanicus (a taxon I can find very little reference to)...

    Which Giant Petrel (Southern Chile)?

From the colour of the bill tip I would agree with Northern which I understand is, curiously, normally found in more southerly waters than Southern.

Steamer-Ducks in southern Chile - which?

I think you will find that Alvaro Jaramillo states that while Flightless is exclusively marine, Flying Steamer-duck can be both marine and fresh water. I think your ids are correct. Have a look at my pages www.arthurgrosset.com/sabirds/flyingsteamer-duck.html and...
