Personally as a UK shooter I'm little disappointed with this lens even more so with Canon generally, I didn't particularly rate the extending 100-400 taking a long time to get used to the 100-500. Whilst Nikon and Sony are churning out some interesting lens at lower price points we get this... -

Purchase a 5D4 from Panamoz, sold it 2 years later to MBP for £350 less than what I paid for it, no issues selling apart a £30 drop in the valuation due to a higher shutter count. -

Been using Panamoz for quite a few years now and never had an issue, certainly supply and especially cost exceed all expectations. Highly recommended. -

Personally I think the R3 has merits for bird photograph, I know there's a few on this forum that have used the 1DX2 so the natural progression. R3 has better AF over the R5, better buffer as you would expect, cost wise you can pick one up from Panomoz for around £4900 and thats where I'll be... -

Can't agree that EF lens work better on a RF body, yes my remaining EF 500mm 2 lens works just fine on the RF body but is that better than a RF version ? DSLR's Are Dead
Even more news DSLR's are dead with values heading south as the reports now are EF lens are also now being discontinued heading the same way. Apart from one remaining "big white" the rest of my EF system has gone ! -

Upgrading for a 7D which way to go?

Canon R3 or Canon R5 for bird photography?
Battery life can/is an issue with the R5 focusing on small birds in shrubbery isn't, just assign spot metering to one of the back buttons
