Canon R1 Rumours on new R1

Anyone seen this from Jarred Polin, supposed to be "breaking news" that Canon have announce spec's on the R1 and Sony on the A1 2...just saying !

    Canon RF 200-800mm IS USM

Personally as a UK shooter I'm little disappointed with this lens even more so with Canon generally, I didn't particularly rate the extending 100-400 taking a long time to get used to the 100-500. Whilst Nikon and Sony are churning out some interesting lens at lower price points we get this...

    Grey imports.

Purchase a 5D4 from Panamoz, sold it 2 years later to MBP for £350 less than what I paid for it, no issues selling apart a £30 drop in the valuation due to a higher shutter count.

    Grey imports.

Been using Panamoz for quite a few years now and never had an issue, certainly supply and especially cost exceed all expectations. Highly recommended.

Canon R3 & Canon 800MM F/5.6 RF Lens Combo anyone yet..?

Personally I think the R3 has merits for bird photograph, I know there's a few on this forum that have used the 1DX2 so the natural progression. R3 has better AF over the R5, better buffer as you would expect, cost wise you can pick one up from Panomoz for around £4900 and thats where I'll be...

    Om-1 And Mike Lane vids

Facebook !....not really. He's an established reviewer like him or not, gives his opinion based on what ever testing he dose, ultimately as you say it's a choice to be made.

    DSLR's Are Dead

Can't agree that EF lens work better on a RF body, yes my remaining EF 500mm 2 lens works just fine on the RF body but is that better than a RF version ? I don't know I haven't tried and I'm unlikely to find out at £13k. My 100-400 was changed to the 100-500, (I wouldn't do it now, as since Feb...

    DSLR's Are Dead

Even more news DSLR's are dead with values heading south as the reports now are EF lens are also now being discontinued heading the same way. Apart from one remaining "big white" the rest of my EF system has gone !

Upgrading for a 7D which way to go?

Are you really considering upgrading to a camera to one over 7 years old ?....I have a 7D2 which I haven't used for a very long time as I use mirrorless, the only reason I still have it is it's probably only worth about £200. Recently I was photographing a Red Throated Diver as it was at some...

Canon R3 or Canon R5 for bird photography?

Battery life can/is an issue with the R5 focusing on small birds in shrubbery isn't, just assign spot metering to one of the back buttons

    Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS

Try this image taken with a "prime" can't see a major drop in image quality, taken at f4 to "blow out" the background and not possible at f6.3

    Ultra lightweight gimbal head?

Sorry I don't agree with that statement having tried it....have you ? All my lens have replacement feet mainly to eliminate the arca-swiss plate becoming loose, but most or all replacement feet that I know won't work with the likes of Flexshooter as the balance point is so finite hence you need...

    Ultra lightweight gimbal head?

Bid late....I would have thought there would be more millage in changing the tripod to a lighter version, personally I find Gitzo's tripods heavy, quality yes but way to heavy for me. I've been using Feisol for the last six years which feels like half the weight of the gitzo equivalent. The...

So is the Canon R5 a bird photography body?

I shoot entirely in manual tweaking when needed viewing the histogram, other than that when out I don't mess around changing the camera settings preferring to use a custom setting assigned to the MFn button, one press and boom...the ISO/shutter/f-stop are all changed, instantly including to the...

So is the Canon R5 a bird photography body?

Some interesting techniques, personally I never turn the lens IS off as above 700mm FL I prefer stability in the camera viewer which also seems to me aid AF, the 1.4 ext seems to live on the big lens when reach is an issue but not so on the 70-200 or the 100-400 Here's an image of a Slav Grebe...

    DSLR's Are Dead

Canon have done right keeping existing users onside providing a EF/RF adaptor so there's no need for a complete clear out, the new RF "big whites" are existing "built in adapted" EF lens so nothings really changed on that front so why would you change a Canon 600mm f4 for a Sony F4 of similar...

    DSLR's Are Dead

Are DSLR cameras dead, or soon to be obsolete ?…it certainly looks it to me Most, if not all manufacturers bringing new cameras to market are all now mirrorless, they are smaller, lighter, faster, better AF systems, more durable, and with Canon announcing the R3 another mirrorless camera at the...

So is the Canon R5 a bird photography body?

Must say in the end I did punched the R5 ....I've just off loaded the 5D MkIV to free up space in the bag for the R3

So is the Canon R5 a bird photography body?

For me that's a R5....some pointers, there will be no LED screen on "R7" suggest the R7 likely won't have a CFEx card slot either
