    Who else is cheating?

12x50 does not say that the exit pupil is 4.166. it is a measure of the binoculars, it implies that the magnification is 12X and that the objective lens is manufactured with a 50mm diameter. As long as this is so then there is no deception.

Can I delete a '.....dll' file safely from Windows folder ?

If you can delete the files from the other folders and can see from the folder they are in that they only apply to this program there is no problem. If the folder they are in could relate to anything else I would not delete them I would rename them by adding a number to their name, then if you...

    Nikon on Ebay

I had an identical scope but with a 20x before I bought my ED78, I sold that on ebay and got £100 for it, I suspect that had the phone lines in manchester not been wiped out by a fire in one of the tunnels I might have got a little more. I bought it from In focus in 2000 and paid £210 for it...

£500 to spend - what should I get?

Not in the same league as the Nikon ED78 that is at the moment selling for £279 on ebay with 13 hrs left. I had one before I bought my ED78 and I would not go back to using one.

I did quite a bit of digiscoping up till last year with my 300d and Nikon ed78 and was quite pleased with the results. I haven't...

    Refurbished a risk?

I bought a Canon 300d from the canon outlet on ebay two years ago, supposedly refurbished but in fact brand new with a 12 month warranty, it has never skipped a beat since then. The auction finished at 11 am on a Thursday and the camera was delivered in my hands by 11 am the following day. If I...

£500 to spend - what should I get?

The last two similar to that one went for £711 and £855 respectively. The Nikon ed 78 gives at least as good an image as these scopes if not better and costs a lot less.

    Must have free software!?

I use eudora as my mail program, Agent as my newsreader, I do not post an address that download mail from on any public place and I do not open attachments unless I know where they come from and I am expecting them, I do not visit dodgy sites and I was using dialup all of which make allowing a...

    Must have free software!?

In 13 years using windows I have never knowingly been attacked with a virus. I've certainly never had an active virus in my machine. What is more I only started to use an antivirus when I got broadband 3 years ago. Switching to Linux means lots of grief and a learning curve that is so steep as...
