Is this possibly a snowy owl ?

Agree with Black headed gull. Seems a typical flight pattern when flying low.

    ID Cherbourg, France

It looks like a Chaffinch to me. Correct shape and size. Red body tone and blue head tone.

    Night calling bird

Sounds like a young Herring Gull wanting food.

Does anyone know what this bird is please

Looks like a weird looking disheveled European Robin?

    Epping Forest BOP?

Birders these days seem to be either ambivalent, rude or conceited. Or maybe just a bit of all of the above. I used to love this forum when nutcracker helped out. Birds and trees that was nutty. Now just brash and rude that’s butty.

    Pembroke ,Wales. Cackling Goose?

Thanks for your reply Indobirder. Reported by people who have seen it to be comparable in size to Barnacle goose. Small bill, short neck and over all facial structure seems wrong for Canada. Seems to show quite a steep forehead. Could it be a hybrid?

    Pembroke ,Wales. Cackling Goose?

This goose has been hanging around the millpond at Carew Pembrokeshire for the last few days. Presumably a Cackling goose? Could it be a genuine vagrant given the recent storms or more likely a feral or escape.

    Golden Eagle? Findhorn Valley, Scotland

I don't think you can dismiss the reference to kite in this situation. The bird looks more Red Kite than Golden Eagle, in my opinion. (and that's all it is my opinion) Red Kite in the field can seem quite a bit larger than Common Buzzard. The bird in question just doesn't look square enough in...

    Golden Eagle? Findhorn Valley, Scotland

I read on the BBC that there were about 280 pairs in Scotland in 2015. I don't know if any are located near to where this bird was spotted.

    ID Help Required

We saw 2 Juv starlings with the same colouring to the head on the east coast of Ireland a couple of weeks ago. We saw another one 3 days ago in a different place on the same stretch of coast about a mile from the first 2. We presumed it was some kind of staining. They looked exactly like the one...

    Might be a kestrel

I can not see how this can be a positive ID of Kestrel. The colours are far too washed out as far as I can see to be of any use.

Later tern at Cut End Lincolnshire 6th and 7th of November

Looks like it's sat on the back of a Nile Crocodile. ;)
