    Kite Ibis 7x42 ED

I see that Fujilm KF 8x32 seller on eBay gives Eye Relief as 14.5mm, but there is more than enough with glasses which would be equivalent to "17mm" or "18mm" for me, so that I have O rings in place under the eyecups

    Kite Ibis 7x42 ED

I can't remember why I returned them but it may have been because I found the dioptre adjustment needed to be on the limit when, for me, the setting has invariably been around the middle with other models. Bad luck when the Ibis was the only discounted example available but instead I got...

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

Cheers Arthur, as we say 'down the pub'. It depends, but judging by Mars bars, or in our case eggs, inflation might be a lot worse than that. Here a dozen eggs have doubled in price over just two months, if you can find any. Some say it's BREXIT or COVID or Putin, but maybe it's just bird flu!

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

Too 'right' edj :) With a bit more practice using the Fuji KF 8x32 it seems it seems significant that there is little to annoy about them. I guess that this lack of distraction leads one to notice and to ruminate about other things, such as depth of field and 'focus snap', both of which help to...

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

    - and because of the very light and accurate focus action of Fujifilm KF 8x32: Today i was answering a phone call while watching a robin with morsels of food for the young lined up in its beak, to see where it was heading. It flitted all over the place, as robins do, so in the end my attempts...

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

Yes I did get to try the Noctivid but it was annoying to find that the slightly stiff/new focus actually had several degrees of free play so decided not to swap, also SF and NL and was impressed by their wide field but not enough to exchange for the older EDG. You made good points and the UV...

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

@CharleyBird, that's sort-of what I realised but it was too late to remove more than the most embarassing bits :) @Binocollector, that's just the sort-of thing which prompted me to come out again! I reckon 'cheap' can be pretty good too, while the top brands could not really be 10x or even 20x...

Product Review: Oberwerk SE 8 x 32 ED.

From Oberwerk's web site the 8x32, 10x42, and 12x50 SEs weigh 1.75, 2.0, and 2.25lbs (bare) respectively i.e. in steps of 4oz or 113gms. While they share the same main body and a similar <> 4mm exit pupil, it is the objective barrels which vary, but weight is just part of the story. Optics...

Why pay more? Comfort, focus action, and resolution

When trying to choose binoculars, 'Why pay more?' seems to apply ... with apologies the rest of this post was deleted because next morning it did not make much sense, but perhaps it is worth some discussion after all

Seeking advice - lightweight bino in the £150 range

Today I had the chance to compare Fujifilm KF 8x32 with a huge but lovely pair of Swift Stormking 7x50 (independent eyepiece focus) which has once on CN forum been called 'the best Swift binoculars ever made', and thought the little KF came off best. Because of its configuration the Stormking...

Seeking advice - lightweight bino in the £150 range

That's interesting although I did not find Sightron clones, including Kenko Ultraview 8x32 OP DHII, to be dim, and when price comes into it it's quite hard to find anything decent below £150. Unfortunately, at least in Uk, Kenco binoculars are quite hard to find although the occasional one...

Seeking advice - lightweight bino in the £150 range

From typo's review: "These Fujinons gave quite remarkable results that would at least match the most expensive binoculars on the market. It genuinely is a very sharp binocular that would certainly satisfy even the most demanding eyesight in optical terms." - and you don't need to try them...

    Fujifilm KF 8x32 bargain

I guess another version was probably Sig Sauer Zulu3 8x32 and in one of the many posts it was supposed that the BS clones are likely to have been superceded. However the KF I just received seems at least as good as remembered and seems nice and sharp, with a clear view nearly to the edge which...
