    This morning there were radio controlled model sailing boats on the "Big" lake. Also a Kayak !.     2.00pm today, Longham lakes, cold with a few flakes of snow falling. The lakes must be at least 3/4 frozen over now. At least 120 Lapwing, no Hoopoe, Meadow pipits trying to find food along the banks, 60ish Pochard, one Gooseander, 2 green woodpecker and 4 Snipe. Also one black feathered body...

    Have just got back into birding and photography in the last fortnight, after a summer break. Had good views of Wheatear last weekend at Holt Heath, loads of linnet too. The Little owl at Portland is brilliant isn't it. We visited last winter, first time we had seen a Little owl in Dorset...
