    Pallid Harrier - Portugal

Hi all. Saw this juvenile harrier today near Lisbon. Head pattern with very limited white and black lore, unspotted neck boa, neck boa shape and plain chest make me lean towards pallid and not montagu's. Inputs welcome. Regards Frederico

    Chiffchaff for id - subspecies

Hi all. I saw this chiffchaff a couple of weeks ago and it seemed a little odd. Cannot quite put it on any of the subspecies that occur over here. I thought of tristis but the plumage seems a little too warm for that. Attached are some pictures with and without sun. Also a link for more pics...

At the time I did not know and the guide did not warn me about it either. For an European visiting for the first time, it was just a Magpie. So, for me...

Question about Eurasian Magpie - Mahachai Forest 2013

Hi all. Was checking my Thai list from my trip back in 2013. I have an Eurasian Magpie (pica pica) seen in the Mahachai mangrove Forest on the 22/01/2013. My question is if this could now be a pica serica, with the recent split on the IOC. Thanks Frederico

Possible Pallid Harrier - Female - Portugal

Hi All. First of all, thanks for your help. Females are never easy. Thanks Tom. That is what I was seeing in the book pictures. Still could not find in the text but must re-read it over the weekend. Unfortunately a bridge is all I have. I chose the "best" 5 pics for the initial post. Here's...
