    Is this a young temminck's lark? Initially had it down as a bar-tailed in the field but having doubts now that I have looked at the photos. First time with desert lark species, good fun. Seen on the seifim plain, 27/04.

    Striped Woodhaunter or Lineated Foliage-gleaner

    I believe your bird is a striped woodhaunter based on the diffuse look to the breast streaking. I've attached my images of linneated foliage gleaner from Chirripo NP, and even in these blurry and distant images you can see the distinctness of the breast streaking.

Northern Scrub was my gut feeling, but this was seen on the 'wrong'/west side of the Nicoya peninsula, and therefore out of the normal range shown in the Garrigues fieldguide, which is why I'm cautious.     Best I can come up with is juv grey-lined hawk, but this was seen quite some way north of the range shown in Garrigues fieldguide guide. Any ideas? Thanks

    Saw this in mangroves, but not confident enough to ID it. Thoughts are yellow bellied elaenia or northern scrub flycatcher - anyone have more experience with these? Sorry about the rubbish photos. Cheers
