Flycatcher sp. July, Playa San Miguel Costa Rica (1 Viewer)

Saw this in mangroves, but not confident enough to ID it. Thoughts are yellow bellied elaenia or northern scrub flycatcher - anyone have more experience with these? Sorry about the rubbish photos.

Cheers

I agree it should be N Scrub Fly or Greenish Elaenia. For me the jizz - particularly the all dark, short, pointy bill looks like N Scrub Fly more than Greenish Elaenia. If you could see the wings / upperside of the bird any doubt would be removed.

Thanks for your replies. Northern Scrub was my gut feeling, but this was seen on the 'wrong'/west side of the Nicoya peninsula, and therefore out of the normal range shown in the Garrigues fieldguide, which is why I'm cautious. Seen in mangroves -seems more in line with northern scrub according to habitat descriptions in the book. Added a few more photos which may show the upperparts marginally better. Cheers

Thanks for your replies - the more I look around at images online the more confident I am that it is Northern Scrub.
