    I would also look at the warranty, if these are both bought with a USA warranty the Nikon has the no falt deal going. Optics are great in both.

    Leupold Golden Rings HD lens system

    Talked to someone in the Leupold custom shop today that told me Leupold GRs binos used the same HD lens system as their GR spotters, a fluoride based objective lens system. He went on to say this is not listed in their catalog but this is what they use in their new GRs bins. Any of you guys know...

    There is a guy on Ebay that claims his store in Europe has Swarovski ELS 8.5x42s for $700 US dollars and also says he has Leica Geovids 10x42 for 700, what are the chances hes legit.

    Swarovski warranty on refurbs?

    Their warranty is the best I have ever delt with and this includes zeiss or leica. They do things that are not stated in their written warranty. As long as it is or was a usa purchase and not gray the will take care of you, refurb or not, no time limit. The others are right, $899 is no bargain...

    I have no experence with Canon, are the optics as good as the ones here. They look nice and compact.

    He does wear glasses. I looked and the zeiss and nikon fov is actually pretty close. The leica has a much bigger field, which I love. How do you guys like the 12x as compared to 10x. I have always used 7s, 8s, and 10s. My dad complains that as he gets older its harder for him to see with 7s, 8s...
