    i had a bit of a feeling for caspian too but might just be the picture. just seems a fair bit of bill showing and looks a heavyish bird even at that angle ?

    i wud agree it seems to be a black kite but you cant be certain from the pics available - just difficult to make it anything else from these shots.

    certainlt looks like a least bittern alejandro - but we dont get many here in the uk ! !. and i not sure about there distribution in south america .

    so querquedula got em wrong in the field but you sure from a photo jane ? i got the peregrine wrong - its easy to mess up a pic.
