    How many people expect to zoom a scope with one finger? Just curious because I've always used thumb and forefinger.

    Rather short history on my end. #1 Eagle Optics Raven 78mm 20-60x. Maybe 1990? A nice scope, but limited ER. I gave it away. I think this might have been a Kowa with minimal changes.     I just noticed that Swarovski has updated (their word) the Pocket CL. They softened the look by rounding off the hinges (which may be more comfortable since the former design could dig into your fingers just a bit), rounding off the exposed metal, reducing the number of splines on the focus...

    If you cut the cord, just hold a lighter to the free end briefly. It will melt the nylon and prevent fraying. I shortened two of my SV straps this way, but I could also reattach the keeper. The newer FP keeper, so far as I know, cannot be reattached. To me, the keeper is just for extra security...

    Carrying Straps and Other Accessories - a Rant

    That makes sense! I left about two inches extra on my SV straps for that purpose, and suddenly the Swaro straps make perfect sense. Nothing out there can be adjusted as quickly. Just a thought.
