    Bird ID, seen in Northern Alberta today

    This bird was seen in a field today. First glance, Snow Bunting. But the markings seem different. Wing bars, different markings on the chest. We are now thinking White Wagtail. Thoughts?

    Unknown Duck, Nunavut

    Hi all I read this article on cbc.ca (the Canadian public news) http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/story/2012/11/23/north-kugluktuk-duck.html There is a duck that is clearly a little confused up there, but I can't necessarily ID it. Any help?

    I agree. Both are Willow. Rock Ptarmigan doesn't poke its head into the Northern part of Manitoba until the winter.

    eastern united states, junco?

    Not true. I was actually born with a life-list in my hand. Interestingly enough, Passenger Pigeon was 1 of 119 species checked off on the list. It still remains a mystery.
