    Yes,Broad-billed very rare now in Shanghai.Dunlin fairly common.At this time of year it's not much easier to see a Broad-billed than to see a Spoon-billed Sandpiper.

    I use android app and no vpn needed. only back at home on laptop I need vpn to load the Google map. But ebird app needs you to have Googleplay set in your android phone so vpn is needed by then.

    Hi Michael Nanbeihu area in Haining has several hills good for watching migrating raptors. It's expensive though.So see my Post on Jiulongshan between Haining and Shanghai.

    30+ were at Leizhou in early Dec and from then on several color-marked birds were seen for several times,seeming to be overwintering there.Hope they have a good 2018!
