    Snettisham tomorrow

I was there this morning as light was breaking. Plenty of Knot and Godwits but no Pink feet! Very disappointing as the trip earlier in the week produced thousands of them. I think you takes your chances on the gravel pits as not too many came over from that direction and I was there until...

    Kites sighted in Northamptonshire

Hi Peewit, I live in Rushden, just up the road from you. If you wanted I could show you Red Kites, they frequent an area about 30mins from Rushden. They are quite commonplace in Northant's now and we look on them as we might Buzzards. Brian.

    East coast tomorrow

Had a great day! No Spoonbills but added a stonking Grey Plover to my life list, in fact there were several but one particular bird was in fine plumage. I didn't get any further than Wells next to the sea as the weather was so nice. I spent a couple of hours in the Washington hide at Holkham and...

    Kowa 613, which lens??

I have just bought (second-hand) a Kowa 613 and it has come with a new 30x lens. I have taken the scope out this weekend and am delighted with it but can someone tell me what benefits apart from the obvious magnification, the new £169 20-60x zoom might have. At present this lens gives me a good...

    Summer Leys Nature reserve Northant's.

Hi lark'odell, after a 35yr lay off of bird watching and just getting used to getting about a bit that was quite a good start for me. If you see an old scruffy Red Rover that'll be me there somewhere so stop me and say hello. metroman.

If you are using XP try "Go back" in time. It generally solves problems like that. metroman.
