    Did any1 hear Jeremy Vine on Radio2 today? He spoke to a so-called Japanese scientist who reckons they have to kill 1000 Whales a year so they can see how old the Whales are from their Ear wax. Ones things for sure 'There not gonna get any older' And this information apparently will tell them...

    Had a couple of hours at the grove end today. Very little about. 6 Snipe were in the field with a Green woodpecker as you begin the trail.     Thats good to hear, we dont get many down here these days. I remember when i was a kid there were millions of butterflies near the footy square. Now its just a handful.

    Had a Peacock Butterfly flying round the factory this morning, it was 5' c at the time. We dont normally see them till about mid Feb. Whats the chances of that 1 surviving i wonder?

    Hi Mick, i had a few hours Saturday afternoon. Doing a bit of Piking. Only had 1 quick shower of 5 minutes, quite nice to start with. Its always good over there, looking a bit bleaker now though with bare trees. At least you can see the birds anyway which are normally just hiding and singing. Mick
