Grasshopper, Dragonfly and Bee-fly id Croatia

Some help with the id of the following would be appreciated please folks. The Grasshoppers look to be the same species but were photographed in different locations in Cavtat just south of Dubrovnik as was the bee-fly sp. The dragonfly I assume is Common Darter but would like confirmation. Taken...

    IS60 WP eyepiece, which one?

For the last few years I've had the use of a Leica scope on loan, unfortunately that has now come to an end and I need a scope of my own. My funds dictate an entry level model and I'm pretty much settled on the IS60 WP. What I am trying to decide now is which eyepiece, the 25x or 18-54x...

    Warbler ID - Cavtat, Croatia

After the success of my previous request I thought I would try with another bird. At the time I photographed this I was thinking Chiffchaff, but I'm not so sure now. It did pump its tail occasionally. Edited to add....having checked my notes I made a comment that there was a "chack" call heard...

Thank you so much to everyone for contributing to this thread. As previously said it's been a great discussion and I've learned a lot. So it appears Ring Ouzel is the favourite (Nutcracker would have been amazing!!) and I'm quite happy with that. Cheers all. Mike

Ring Ouzel crossed my mind when I saw the image but I have really limited experience of them so wouldn't like to state either way. A bit of background to where the image was taken may help. The tree it was in was located in the grounds of the hotel I was staying in, right on the coast. However...

This is as much of the wing as can be seen on any of the images.

Well thank you to everyone for adding to this. As I said my initial thought at the time was blackbird so didn't really take too much notice. It was only when checking my images that I thought hang on, that looks a bit odd. I am aware that blackbirds can be very variable, it was the bill more...

Thanks for the answers. I've got to admit I'm very surprised at juvenile Green Woodpecker. I've been sat looking at my image and comparing it to others I can find as well as reference books, and to be honest I don't see it. The bill looks completely wrong as do markings, size and overall shape...

Took this a couple of days ago at the same time as trying to photograph a warbler sp. This bird appeared briefly and then disappeared. I thought at the time it was a juvenile blackbird but having just downloaded the image onto my laptop I'm pretty sure it isn't one. Any ideas?
