    Brown Headed gull?? Karwar, India

This poor bird couldn't fly and hence I was able to catch hold of it. Handed it over to the local SPCA, to see if it could be treated for whatever reason it couldn't fly. However, the identification still remains. On the face of it, looks like a Brown Headed Gull, but the head band flummoxes...

    Photography classes / workshops

I don't know about the seniors on the site, but for me, I've learnt photography while on the job, experimenting with the camera and settings etc., reading up from guides and books and websites. Quite a few professionals I've met haven't had any formal training, and they're quite amazing with...

    Upgrade or not??

HI all I have a Canon EOS 7D, with 100-400 EF-L USM lens... This combo is working well as far as getting amateur pics, I'm planning to get an upgrade or perhaps a new lens set. What are your suggestions between a non Canon 150-600 mm or a 600 or 800 Canon lens or perhaps just get an extender...

Bird Photography or plain old birding!!

He He He... aptly put chosun... guess I can divide my time, by going one day for birding, identify potential spots for photography, and then next visit for only photography... Guess that should help me in both ways...

Bird Photography or plain old birding!!

@dalat Couldn't agree more.. I have come to realize that both require different attention. Somehow, at the end of the day, birding I guess turns out more satisfying to me, although I do wish I could photograph them as well..

Bird Photography or plain old birding!!

Hi all, I don't know if this is the right forum, so the moderators may place it in an appropriate forum. Let me highlight a peculiar problem.. I've been into ornithology since a long long time now.. Although erratic, depending on the time my job has allowed me to. SO, it's not as if I've become...
