    Seen at the end of February in Sinharaja, Sri Lanka. I think it must be either: 1. Gomphidia pearsoni (Rivulet Tiger) 2. Ictinogomphus rapax (Common Clubtail/Rapacious Flangetail) The eye colour - dark grey - seems to suggest (2) but I'd appreciate a confirmation.

    Thanks very much for all the comments. Having spent more time looking at the book and at all the other damselflies I photographed last week I also think this must be Coenagrion pulchellum (Variable Damselfly/Bluet).

    These two were from north-east Poland last week. The first is likely to be Large Tortoiseshell but I'm not sure that Yellow-legged can be ruled out, at this location. The second is a female Sooty Copper I think. Any comments welcome.

    From the Biebrza marshes area last week. Fully extended the wingspan would have been about 30-35mm.
