    Bullfinches

    Yes, I have found exactly the same thing not only in my own patch, but even as far afield as my Parents garden in Aberdeen( ! ) where as a kid it never ever got on to my 'garden list' More power to the Bullfinches elbow ! PM -----------------------------------------

    Volunteering - Your Experiences ??

    I think I really must be getting old as I have recently been thinking of volunteering for the RSPB doing reserve work. Do any members have any experiences of this - Good or bad, I am interested in both. Work does not give me the time to commit to any survey, or time consuming stuff anymore...

    Thanks guys Yes I certainly will be exploring Burton sites, I actually went over to Branston Resevoir (I think there are other local names for it)this morning and poled the following - 3 x Cormorant Female Sparrowhawk 2 x Grey Wagtail 50 + Fieldfare (but unusually no Redwing) - 6 x Lesser Black...

    Birding in the Western Algarve

    Thanks Ian I have cheked them out and gained usefull info, although the area that I am covering is only abot 20 sq miles (from Luz to the Western tip) as I the good lady gets the Hire car as a compromise (I am biking it !!) Ta muchly Paul
