    2019 UK Orchids

I assume you didn't see the leaves Steve? Not a lot to go on, it just looks like a funny Violet. Whether it is outside the bounds of Violet I'll leave you to judge. Personally, I doubt it's a F1 hybrid, in my experience they don't really look like either parent. It might be a back-cross with...

    2019 UK Orchids

A close up of the flower to get a better idea of the colour of the interior of the hypochile (I can see it looks dark but is that red, brown or olive), a view of the leaves to see their shape and colour, and the base of the stem to see what colour it is. Rich

Being a predominantly eastern species I suspect there are no reliable Man orchid sites close to Bristol. Your best bet is that well known one in Worcs, Ufton Fields I think it's called. Rich M

    2018 Orchid Thread

I don't use Facebook for anything else, I set up an account, under a pseudonym, purely to participate in the closed orchid groups. There really is a lot of good stuff on there, with lots of people actively participating. Plenty of orchid information also on Twitter which you can read without...

I suspect most people now use the Native Orchids of Britain and Ireland group on Facebook - plenty of activity on there. There are also separate active groups for Kent and for Sussex Rich M
