Dear all, I will be in the Mae Chan area for a long weekend break in Feb 2010. Can anyone recommend a birding guide for a day trip in the area? Thanks!

Well, it sorta resembles the photo of a pale thrush in one of my books but the pale thrushes in the other books all look so different! :eek!:

    Help with Bird in Taiwan

Hi spotted this one in Yeliu Geological Park but can't find a match in any of my books. FYI, it was in December, just in case it's a winter visitor...

    Another bulbul in Singapore!

Yeah that's what I read online. Quite surprised to have seen one at Bukit Batok Nature Park. In fact, it was probably not the only one. There was another similar-looking bird in the vicinity but it flew off before I could take a good look at it.

    Another bulbul in Singapore!

Excellent! They aren't so common round here either, I believe, so I'm doubly glad to have spotted it *grin*

    Another bulbul in Singapore!

I'm obviously on a bulbul roll here :-) but this time I'm quite sure it is NOT an olive-winged bulbul. By the way, this was spotted in Bukit Batok Nature Park. Straw-headed bulbul, anyone? (Crossing my fingers but happy to be corrected anyway!)

    Bird in Singapore: Babbler?

Hehe I never thought of the possibility of it being a juvenile! How confusing :-) Anyway here's another pix of it. So does this confirm that it is a juvenile olive-winged bulbul?

    Bird in Singapore: Babbler?

Hi I'm thinking this is a babbler, an Abbott's Babbler. Am I barking up the wrong tree? FYI, this was spotted at Venus Drive.

    White-eyes? in Singapore...

Spotted in Bukit Batok Nature Park just today. Would these be white-eyes, and if so, which one? Many thanks!
