    Yet another bridge camera thread...

Massive misunderstanding on the net, megapixels does not equal resolution. The smaller camera system the more its down to the lens. Again the camera you mentioned the Sony would be better than your current one and would also give more reach, it has similar size lens as the Panasonic but I would...

    Yet another bridge camera thread...

From what you have said the Panasonic FZ330 seems perfect for your needs. Intelligent zoom will just be like digital zoom though but the FZ330 has a bigger lens than your LZ30 this means it will produce a higher resolution image which will allow more cropping. Also the FZ330 allows for front end...

    Sigma 100-400mm

Depends on what camera you are using? If you are using a crop frame camera I wouldn't bother, as the crop factor acts like a teleconverter, so it will be a bit like stacking teleconverters on a small aperture lens, tests have shown on similar combinations that it's no better and sometimes worse...

How much do I lose by going from DSLR to superzoom?

The P950 will be similar in terms of picture quality and autofocus to the SX70 but will have more reach, I had the P900. Look at Sony RX10, better image quality and the mark 4 has really good autofocus, these are part of the 1 inch sensor class of superzooms. The P1000 has incredible reach but...

What is live view using screen autofocus speed like on the Canon 80D?

Thinking of purchasing an 80D, in the past I've had a Nikon D7500 and D750 both were basically unusable when autofocusing using the screen to track slow moving ducks, great cameras otherwise. I was wondering what it was like with the 80D? Also in the past had plenty of bridge cameras P900...

    FZ80/FZ300/SX70 choice - any thoughts?

I am curretly not using a superzoom but if I were then the P950 would be top of the list of the ones you mention, it's a good choice. I had the P950 is basically a P900 with a better viewfinder. The viewfinder on the P900 wasn't that good, it needed upgrading. By 'cropable', I mean you take an...

    FZ80/FZ300/SX70 choice - any thoughts?

Something I keep meaning to post about from my analysis both real world and looking at online data. Exactly how much reach if any advantage the fz80 has over the fz300 its nowhere near the twice as much suggested by the 1200mm compared to 600mm in the specifications. Actual reach and...

    P950 'Birdwatching' mode

Think you'll kick yourself when you find out where it is. Its basically on the main dial, there a picture of a bird indicating it.

    digiscope for P900

Bridge cameras, like the P900, are not suitable for digiscoping. They are basically an alternative, they already have their own powerful zoom optics for magnifying distant small birds.

    Nikon p900 images.

Amazing camera in my opinion, camera technology has come along way. Here are some images I took. Unfortunately I have to sell mine, it's available in the for sale part of Birdforum, but might get it's big brother the P1000 next year when I have more time and money next year.

    The P1000 is big

What is the lowest f number widest aperture at 2000mm on this nuclear weapon of a camera.

Your on a boat at sea, a pelagic (think that's the right word they say?) trying to photo birds in flight what's the best lens and camera by Canon for this? Money not really being issue (even though at this moment in time I'm skint and a mature student lol)

Panasonic FZ200 (FZ300) coupled with Nikon Tc E17ED

Thought I would post some photos of this combination, the converter is now out of production but can be purchase 2nd hand on Ebay. The converter can be coupled also with Fz70/Fz80. the good thing is because is that it gathers more light so doesn't have detrimental effect of reducing image...
