Iphone & Phoneskope stuff - what am I missing?

Sounds like the adapter ring is too loose. Try a wrap of electrical tape on the eyepiece. If not happy with that see if phoneskope will swap it for the next size down. I use a iPhone 8 plus on a Nikon Ed 82. Image quality unless conditions are perfect will never be that good. Best thing I have...

Your Top Rarities of the decade gone by?

Have to agree about the Pallid Harrier. I went a few times as well. Absolutely blew my socks off. Seen several but this one was special. A bird I will never forget.

    Phone adapter opinion please

I use the 30x DS eyepiece. Phone Skope provide cases for most phones then you get an adapter ring to fit your eyepiece. This then fits onto the phone case. Found the phone Skope dealer very helpful when I was starting up. Well worth ringing them.

    whats your favorite bird?

Redshank. The bird that got me involved in conservation over 40 years ago. Found a small breeding colony on local farmland while walking. Adopted the area as my local patch eventually buying a house as close as possible. Slowly and painfully along with a small group of like minded people...
