Best Birding Places in Las Vegas

Depends if you are meaning central or can travel out about 10-20 miles? There are some very good places around. I would very much recommend a couple of the sites mentioned in the link in the previous post. Henderson reserve and Corn Creek are very good places indeed. Almost anything can turn up...

    Best locations world wide

I've not been but Cap Rhir in Morrocco seems to be getting a reputation for some tricky seabirds lately. See Jos Stratford's recent report in the Vacations section. The lighthouse NW of Tarrafal on Sao Nicolao, Cape Verde was good. Fea's, Little Shearwater of both types, Cape Verde Shears plus...

Somerset - last week of May

There were Corn Buntings, quite a few in fact, near a village called Marshfield, which is a few miles NE of Bath, the winter before last. I guess they breed in the area which looks suitable. Edit, actually N not NE of Bath and in South Glos. not Somerset

    RFI: Cologne, Germany

Many thanks chaps. Looks like we'll probably be stopping of at Maastricht on our way back to Calais. Any idea which direction I should be looking at when I get to this spot, or is it obvious?

Hi, I've got a short trip to Cologne coming up in a couple of weeks. I'll have one evening free to try for my nemesis , (Eagle Owl). I know it's a long shot but are there any known sites in the area? Best Regards, John

    July Moths

Really enjoying having a new garden to trap in. I dont trap in it every night, but 10 nights since late June have got 130 (100 macro, not brilliant on the micros), or so species to the 15W actinic I run. Personal highlights have been Wood Carpet (my second), Dark Spinach (2nd again), & Devon...

    July Moths

NMN for me was at Birches Farm, Herefordshire nature trust reserve (a new one) on Saturday night. It was a sort of mini-bioblitz event, there was a mammal guy and a batwoman looking for their stuff too, and about 30 kids, who were fascinated by the moths, and the traps (which attract small...

I have a California Quail in my garden South Lincolnshire

Definitely an escapee. Despite being limited naturally to the west of North America, it seems to do well in other places as long as we take it there. I think there are populations that are now self sustaining in New Zealand, South America and Corsica as well. Maybe England next??
