    Lanzarote Costa Teguise birding

Well... you get the chat in Fuerteventura, but apart from that Lanzarote is not behind. It is a smaller island, which makes it easier to move around. I think you would probably like both of them :) I agree that a car is a must. Car hire is not expensive at all. Check a local company called Cicar.

    Bird Guide, Fuerteventura.

Hi Pam, Join the facebook group "Birds of the Canary Islands" to be up to date of what is going on. At www.reservoirbirds.com you would also find the latest rarity news. This winter is being specially good for ducks around here (comparing to what we usually get). Ruddy shelduck numbers are...

    Canary Islands - Car Hire

Hi Pete, I would recommend Cicar (www.cicar.com) Offices all over the Canary Islands, good prices, insurance included... I always hire there when travelling to other islands. Enjoy your stay around here!

    Gran Canaria seabirds, February

Hi Nick, I hope it is not too late... I have just read your message. Regarding the gulls, Las Palmas harbour is a good place, and so is Taliarte (small) harbour. I will send you a PM now with more details. Regards

    Gran Canaria seabirds, February

Cory´s are still in very low numbers, and so are bulwers. Little shearwaters should be around then. Gran Canaria - Tenerife might be an option, but chances are low. All the best

    Birding in Asturias

Hi Mark, Villaviciosa is a nice nature reserve. As you guessed, July is not the best time to look for birds... Anyway, take a look here and here (sorry, in Spanish). Hope this helps.

    Wheatear - Spain

Hi! First of all, thanks a lot for all your enlightening comments. We saw the bird perched and just managed to get four or five pictures each. It flew briefly when a couple of bikers passed by. Then it dissapeared. No chance of checking the tail. We didn´t even think about the desert...
