Gran Canaria seabirds, February (1 Viewer)

I'm probably going to be on Gran Canaria in mid-February. Does anyone know if there is any chance of any of the Canarian seabirds around then (petrels, Little Shearwater)? Has anyone had any seabird success on inter-island ferries in February or am I as well just trying the dolphin trips out of Puerto Rico? I have been out on one of the dolphin trip once before, in January. The dolphins themselves were great and well worthwhile, but if I remember rightly, there was just a single Cory's Shear.

Thanks

Nick

Cory´s are still in very low numbers, and so are bulwers.
Little shearwaters should be around then. Gran Canaria - Tenerife might be an option, but chances are low.

All the best

Thanks Xabi,

Slgith change of plan and now going to be on Gran Canaria in mid January instead. Probably even less good for seabirds then but might possibly give the ferry to Tenerife a try.

Also, do you know if there is anywhere around Las Palmas (the port are perhaps) that attracts gulls in any numbers?

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

I hope it is not too late... I have just read your message.
Regarding the gulls, Las Palmas harbour is a good place, and so is Taliarte (small) harbour.
I will send you a PM now with more details.

Regards
