Identification

The Philippines (except Palawan, Sulu Archipelago)¹

A monotypic species.
Formerly included Talaud Bush-hen (A. magnirostris: which see) and Pale-vented Bush-hen (A. moluccana), and was called merely "Bush-hen." Prior to that, all these taxa fell under White-breasted Waterhen (A. phoenicurus).
